Scheduler
Summary
Job Purpose:- To perform scheduling and orders administration activities related to production and to assist the Purchasing department in other scheduling and orders matters.
Your challenge will be hands on and varied and include the following:
Using the MRP reports schedule materials in line with production requirements:
In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager make purchasing decisions based on an understanding of total cost, including materials, shipping and storage requirement but also impact on productivity
- To ensure purchase system records are accurate and maintained
- The management of supplier/customer relationship internally and externally
- To operate effectively within a team working to a continuous improvement culture and be an excellent team player
- Generate periodic reports to the Purchasing Manager outlining key purchasing issue’s internally within the supplier base
- Cooperation with stock control on range deletion and redundant stocks
- Ensure communication relating to Purchasing is fluent across the business working with other members of the Purchasing team providing up to date information on product issues and product flow
- Work across departmental and business partnership boundaries to develop long term solutions for company requirements
- Any other duties that are required from time to time in line with Business requirements
Background/ Experience Required:- Applicants for this role typically need to be computer literate and scheduling experience would be an advantage. Must have an understanding of the total orders process. In performing assigned responsibility, the incumbent must demonstrate personal integrity, judgement, initiative, and results oriented and effective communication. Ideal for a graduate or an individual with some purchasing experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop.
The salary for this position is up to £20,000.

Procurement Specialist
Summary
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will undertake a key purchasing role covering all production associated requirements, as well as consumables/maintenance contracts for the site, and will perform a role that entails significant interaction with both internal and external suppliers and customers in order to ensure timely and cost effective solutions. In performing these duties, you will also ensure all key internal customers are kept fully up to date on issues that will affect production. It is essential that the successful candidate demonstrate knowledge of an MRP system, ideally obtained within a production environment, as well as strong negotiation skills when dealing with both suppliers and internal customers. The role will therefore suit only the most organised and enthusiastic of procurement professionals who are comfortable in working as part of a team or autonomously, having the responsibility for Key Supplier management, improved buying and contribution to Company development.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years procurement experience
- Working knowledge of MRP systems
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques, Kanban systems and Dealer Manager inventory programmes will prove to be distinctly advantageous
- Computer literate fully conversant with the MS Office suite
- Member of CIPS
